Why I Chose the Celtic Magical Path (the Faeries Led the Way)

I Choose the Celtic Magical Path… and Maybe You Will Too!

Have you ever felt like the “normal” muggle world just doesn’t make sense? Why are they clearcutting forests, stripping the soil, polluting the water? Don’t they know that all of Nature is alive?

If you’ve ever had a moment—standing in a grocery store or doom-scrolling the news—where you thought, Wait… this can’t be how life is supposed to feel, you’re not alone. That’s where my story begins, too.

talk to the trees on the Celtic magical pathI didn’t set out to become someone who talks to trees and makes space for invisible beings in my garden. In fact, I tried to “get my life together” the conventional way—reading self-help books, making lists, working for “the man” (who was sometimes a woman).

But I had a sense that there was more to life—a LOT more. It all started with the faeries. Well, I suppose it started with fairytales way back in my early childhood, but it was the real-life faeries I met as an adult that led me to the Celtic magical path.

Connecting with the Faery Realm

I always had a sense that faeries existed, but I had no idea how to contact them—not until I saw a flyer about a faery workshop posted… I don’t even remember where, but I knew immediately that I had to go.

It was led by a well-known Celtic mythic scholar and author. I won’t mention his name because, in spite of his vast knowledge of the lore, he flat-out stated that he doesn’t “believe” in Law of Attraction (which means he just doesn’t get how the Universe operates—not that I do either, but at least I know that LOA is a fundamental Universal law).

I went to quite a few of his workshops over several years and learned how to travel in the Otherworlds where I formed a deep connection with my own faery allies and immersed myself in the magic of Celtic myths and Arthurian lore.

I don’t mean metaphorically and I don’t mean in words. I mean actual messages—from streams, from the wind, from ravens that stared me down like they knew my phone number.

I’d be walking in the woods and feel a shimmer, like the veil of this world was suddenly thinner than usual. And sometimes, when I was really still, I’d get the unmistakable feeling that someone else was there. Watching. Welcoming me. Waiting. Sometimes I’d even catch a glimpse of them.

Exploring the Celtic Magical Path

Now, before you imagine me wearing a long velvet cape and cavorting with leprechauns, let me clarify. This isn’t about playacting or escaping reality. It’s about deepening into reality—into a wider reality that includes the seen and the unseen.

The ancient Celts lived in a world where every tree had a spirit, every spring had a guardian, and faeries weren’t twinkly Disney sidekicks—they were potent, mysterious beings who shaped the energetic blueprints of Nature.

It is a pantheistic path, which is just a fancy way of saying “God is everything”—rocks, rivers, hedgehogs, compost piles. The divine isn’t a judgmental bearded guy in the clouds—it’s the mycelial web under our feet, the sparkle in morning dew, the quiet whisper from the Otherworld reminding you who you really are.

Faeries Led the Way!

Listening to Nature on the Celtic magical pathYes, I’ve met faeries—felt, heard and seen them. They’re not Tinkerbell—though some nature spirits look a bit like her. Most that I am aware of are more like the elves of Lothlorien in The Lord of the Rings. They’re ancient, wise, sometimes mischievous etheric beings who operate on a frequency most people are too distracted to notice.

Unicorns and dragons? They’re real too. But not in the zoo-animal way. More like energetic beings who anchor purity and harmony in the collective field.

If you talk about this stuff with most people and they’ll politely step away, or worse, call you delusional. I’ve experienced both.

But I know what I know

I immersed myself in this tradition not because I was looking for a new identity, but because it felt like coming home. The mythology, the rituals, the connections—it all awakened something I had forgotten. My faery roots!

So here I am—part mystic, part eco-nerd, part faery emissary—walking the ancient path of Celtic magic. It’s weird. It’s wonderful— and wildly alive. And I want to share it with anyone who is looking for connection with their ancient roots and the Otherworld beings that surround us. That’s why I created a Celtic Magic School.

And if you’re still reading this? The faeries probably sent you. Take a look around at Faehallows School of Magic and maybe you’ll find just what you’re looking for: courses, magical community, live online workshops, mentoring and more. We’d love to meet you!
